Obviously everyone’s journey is different, these are just some tips and tricks I’ve picked up on

Simplify your images
Everything is a simple shape at heart
Noses are pyramids, houses are Cuboids, etc.
Ask other people/artists to give you harsh feedback
it’s REALLY scary at first but this is the best way to learn from your past work

Mby don’t post it on tiktok etc bc those people are ruthless and can be really demotivating
Try different styles and equipment

When drawing or painting a still life use ur pen/ brush as a reference for the proportions

Take your time with your art

In school we have at LEAST 5 hours for one drawing. Usually we take 15-20 hours for one piece alone. (Obviously you don’t have to take that long just yk be patient)
Bring a scetchbook with you
For the small bursts of motivation
Really LOOK at your motives
Try to see the edges and curves as they really are

Idk if this makes sense but you should try to train your eye to see surfaces as as they really are
Lower your expectations
A lot of beginner artist are obsessed with „perfection“ ☹️try to stay away from that mindset

In my experience the art pieces I don’t force myself to paint/draw „perfectly“ turn out the best, because I can really let my creativity flow freely
Give yourself a bit of a challenge
Step out of your comfort zone sometimes
Talking to other artists about their work and journey can be really inspiring and helpful
