Very emotional, could portray myself in the main character. Very relatable experience.

Absolutely loved Henry. Only read this because of Henry but this is one of Hannah’d best books so far. Halle is also a great character. Love the way their relationship develops. Doesn’t quite match with Henry from Icebreaker but I see why.

Funny from time to time. Poorly written but entertaining nonetheless.

All time favorite. Salinger’s incredible and unique writing is what makes this book exceptional. Holden will always remain one of the most amazing and most loved yet hated main characters.

Absolutely changed my mind, my approach towards life in general and my way of thinking about life and death. This book was a comfort to me when I was having a hard time understanding the concept of death. I became very more aware, conscious and open to the idea of reincarnation. A must read.

I read this one back in high school and it quickly became one of my favourite books. Sabato’s writing style, the overall plot and the character’s narration made this book a gripping experience for me. One of the best books in Argentine literature.

This book is an obligatory reading for high schoolers, yet, it was such a heartbreaking but enjoyable experience for me. The way José Mauro de Vasconcelos manages to portray the experience of the lower classes in Brazil and the difficulties that the characters in this emotional book go through makes it difficult for you to stop reading. It’s a must read.

This probably one of the best books ever written. Orwell’s imagination and way of portraying the consequences of communism in the world and the struggles of the working classes makes this book one of a kind. There’s so much to analyse and learn from this.

Read this one not too long ago but I quickly understood why it became a favourite for so many people. It’s such a short book, a very easy read and quickly one, too. Yet, the story is so engaging but very heartbreaking at the same time as it talks about the struggles and misconceptions faced by those affected by the society’s cruelty towards HIV and AIDS but seen in the eyes of a young boy.

An inspiring story by Leon Leyson, a holocaust survivor who was saved by Schindler’s list. In this book, Leyson describes how him and his family were able to survive and escape the atrocities that took place during the holocaust. This dark period of history is described by a young Leyson and how he lived all those years. Heartbreaking yet beautiful and inspiring.

Another beautiful and heartbreaking story by de Vasconcelos. Even though this one isn’t as impactful as his most memorable work, this book manages to portray the hardships faced by a little disabled kid and the power and strength that can be gained through imagination and how important it is to have someone who loves you unconditionally supporting you through your life.
