Just Katniss in 13. She has everything she wanted, her sister safe, her mom and Gale. But she’s crumbling down because Peeta isn’t there or safe. During his first interview with the Capitol, she would’ve entered the TV if she could. She carried the pearl he gave her almost everywhere. And when he comes back hijacked her heart is like breaking in a million pieces and she just starts using anger to hide it. How can people not see it’s not platonic.I made this point so many times but some people are just willfully ignoring Katniss'' own blunt words. You don''t fantasize about kissing a platonic friend, you don''t want to stay in their arms when they''re kissing your neck, you don''t want to die for a platonic friend, you don''t stare at a platonic friend''s eyelashes and get fixated. But to each of their own. I believe some people just don''t want to believe in romantic love in general, or they''re obsessed with the idea of romantic love makes people weak/takes away the political points (which it doesn''t.)

When Rick ripped the throat out of what’s his name with his teeth, after he said he’s okay. Michonne said “I know”. He asked how and she said “because I’m okay too” On my millionth rewatch, it really stood out how different the relationship (which wasn’t romantic yet) was from his and Lori’s. Lori was constantly asking him to give her more communication, Michonne didn’t even need Rick to speak to get him.I definitely saw a potential for a deeper relationship between the two from early on. Rick seemed intrigued by her in a way. She also quickly bonded and kept a watchful eye on Carl (less in an older sister kind of way but in an aunt/adoptive mother kind of way) who was the most important person to Rick. As the show went on, there were quite a few "family" type of vibes between the three of them. The best couple relationships in real life are founded on a previous friendship, respect and a deep care for each other, so the development towards Rick and Michonne as a couple felt actually really organic to me. However, I will say that the episode that finally has them get together, came as a bit of a suprise to me, too, but mainly because I thought they would be even more of a slow burner.

"we're the newcomers and we proud of it" | I hate the idea of thinking that they died thinking that Haymitch abandoned them. and they all saw Haymitch as the glue of the group so this just makes it worse

I love their relationship in the movies, it really got me. I don''t know if I see them as a couple, but I feel like they have a lot of affection for each other. I don''t remember what their relationship was like in the books, but fuck it. They are people who have spent years working together and have developed a fondness for each other, and even though I think they will never see each other again, I still think they will always remember each other fondly.
