Alex Cameron is fantastic. Stepdad has been in the rotation for years and I’m glad I finally got around to listening to the rest. End is nigh is also really great. The storytelling aspect of this album is also absolutely amazing.
I was really surprised by this. I watched their tiny desk earlier today and I really enjoyed it so I thought I’d check out the album and I really enjoyed it the instrumentals are very fun and colourful and the vocals match them very well and give all of the tracks a lot of great character which is also helped by the fun and witty lyrics. Really enjoyed this one and will definitely come back to it.
Masterpiece. This is revival at its highest level and doesn’t just copy old ideas but brings a whole new feel to the idea of revival. The soundscapes on some of the songs are nothing short of magical. Severely underrated.
Wish this properly released. Love the futuristic production. Brothers parts 1&2 are such beautiful songs and beautiful tributes to Virgil despite their tumultuous relationship. New body is a banger
Love this album a lot. Discovered them through a YouTube video years ago and been coming back to this ever since. Some of the best bedroom indie ever and beautiful vocals and instrumentation along the albums DIY charm
Raps favourite oddball still got it. Dirty laundry is a left field classic. Love the out the box funky production throughout with Danny signature whiny inuendo filled bars.
Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat

Notes
Bit of a mixed bag some of these remixes work but some really don’t the So I remix is so beautiful and makes me emotional unlike any other electronic track also girl so confusing is amazing and the Apple remix is criminally underrated
Love this album so much was definitely up there for 2024 also super underrated she’s more than just a travis Scott feature! You know I love you still is a bop
The best rap album of 2021 listened to this a lot in France because it was the only thing I had downloaded so when I listen it just brings me back to that summer in the alps this is easily Tyler’s best album in my opinion
So so so beautiful one of the few albums that has made me cry. The only thing is one of the most beautiful songs ever and death with dignity has been a mainstay for many years also this album is now 10 years old as of yesterday
Perfect definitely Claire’s best can’t even pick out individual highlights cause there’s no misses oh and I saw this live with the homes and it was amazing easily top 5 albums all time
Julia jacklin is very special and criminally underrated head alone and pressure to party are amazing and good guy is so beautiful heart wrenching. Love this album so much
A very interesting send off for the boys. Basically a Kevin solo album. However it is very good and the closing track is a great send off to an amazing run
Loved this but I do think it falls slightly short of Tyler’s previous work and can sound a bit derivative at points. However how can you top his previous three album run. This album is still absolutely amazing compared to most other rap albums out there
Finally listened to this in full after liking a handful tracks over the years. The last great brockhampton album. Also sugar is one of the greatest pop songs of our generation
Wow what an album this is. This is on some Leonard Cohen/Bob Dylan levels of creativity and sounds like nothing else out now this album is so imaginative and I wish I’d gone back to it more often especially after how much it blew me away on first listen. Love takes miles is a great song and I’m happy it’s getting the love it deserves. This is such a massive departure from the amazing work Cameron has done with Geese and is still at the same insane levels of quality and creativity despite the massive shift in genre. I’m so glad I came back to this and I promise that this will stay firmly in my rotation from now on.
Has some of Mac’s best work. Heart to heart is a beautiful song and a great tribute to Mac Miller and nobody has been a mainstay for me since it released
Charli’s best. This is THE lockdown album. Party4u is a classic and I’m so glad i associate it with bottoms and not tiktok. The rest of the album is non stop amazing and I love the raw electronic production throughout the album which I think fits the albums raw nature and themes. Future classic for sure
One of my favourites of 2021. Easy fun indie rock/pop perfection. Some of the grooviest and smoothest instrumentals aswell. This album really takes me back to summer 2021 which was one of my favourites. Remember this being one of the only albums I had downloaded when I was in the mountains and this was a perfect soundtrack to that summer. Love this one so much.
My second favourite Tyler album. This album changed my whole perspective of music and I have so many fond memories of listening to it. Cartis verse on earfquake is amazing
Gosh is one of the best electronic songs of all time. I know there’s gonna be good times is also amazing and so fun love the thugger feature. Definitely to revisit this one at some point
What an amazing debut. Full of classic songs. North is up there in my favourites of hers and bags and Sofia are two classic songs that I’ve loved ever since they released
One of the grooviest albums of all time. Dragonball durag has been a mainstay for years and the rest of the album is a beautiful trip. Fair chance and the title track are two beautiful tributes to Mac miller the former being easily my favourite tribute song ever
Amazing. I love this mix of the folky acoustic Sufjan with the electronic elements and the great balance between the two sides the album explores. The subject matter is also beautiful and perfectly captured through the lyrics. Hope Sufjan gets well soon
I really don’t know how to feel about this album. On one hand it features some Kanyes most beautiful songs. However alot of this albums best material is far surpassed by the yandhi versions of these tracks
Cool but a large majority of this album is quite forgettable. However a few highlights on this album are amazing especially sally when the wine runs out which is an absolute jam
Wow what a beautiful album. This album is such an amazing experience. The production is incredible and the performances from cudi and Kanye are easily some of the best of each others careers. Reborn is a beautiful song and captures the difficult themes of the whole album perfectly through its lyrics and offers a lot of hope despite the dark subject matter
Great album. However it’s pretty low on my Kanye ranking and I don’t go back to it a whole lot. That said this is still an amazing album. Hey mama is a beautiful song and always reminds me how much I appreciate my ‘mama’
An erratic masterpiece. This album is an amazing wild and varied listen but despite its unpredictable nature it’s still delivers every track. Father stretch my hands was the first Kanye song I ever heard when it released and I still love it to this day. Probably Kanyes last masterpiece but what a send off if it is
So many bangers. But was it really worth the wait? I don’t really know there are a few tracks I don’t like and a few I feel indifferent to. However apart from a few misses this album is non stop bangers with a massive range of variety there’s callbacks to classic carti, whole lotta red adjacent tracks and even a metal track (which goes undeniably hard)
Beautiful. Not my favourite of Kanyes albums but that doesn’t make this album not perfect. Devil in a new dress is one of the best songs ever that Rick Ross verse is legendary.
Very interesting. I feel like it’s just too weird and wacky to fully enjoy trying to do too much I think. But apart from that obvious criticism it is quite good at what it’s trying to be
Masterpiece. This is top tier tumblr era alt pop. This album is so much more than everything is embarrassing you must listen to the rest. There’s only one or two slightly below average tracks on here the rest is amazing. Loved this for many years. Go listen!
Solid. I haven’t listened to any other Alex G album all the way through although I have listened to a lot of his songs. But after really enjoying this I will definitely try to listen through more of his albums.
Electronic masterclass. Apart from ponyboy this album is non stop amazing songs back to back it’s okay to cry is beautiful and immaterial is a generational banger. RIP SOPHIE
Yes I have actually listened to this entire album front to back. Listened to it while playing Minecraft over a couple days and I really enjoyed the experience. Absolutely stellar background music and I really enjoyed a couple of standout tracks that I still come back to very often. Will I listen to this in full again? Definitely but I doubt I will do so very often
Really liked this one. Has been in my rotation since it released although I haven’t found myself listening to it as much lately. Blue verb and debold are definite standouts and I love the breakdown on cowboy allstar
All over the place. Lots of hits on this one but it’s just so baited that there was bound to be a few misses and there definitely are. Suicide doors goes crazy hard
Beautiful. Love the more orchestral approach of this album compared to her previous work. End of a friendship is amazing and so well written and helps describe a situation not often shown in music. Love this album a lot
Fun fun fun. This is beautiful thugger girls 2.0 and it’s amazing. Die slow is absolutely amazing and the rest of the track list is full of oddball bangers
My second favourite of Claire’s. Love the sound and feel of this and it will always stay in rotation. Criminally underrated! Harbor is her best song and I love it so much. Joanie is also very fun and underrated groovy as hell!
Love love love this. My second favourite from Mac and easily in my top albums of all time. What’s the use if the grooviest song of all time that bass line goes crazy. 2009 is such an emotional experience. Rest In Peace mac
Groovy as fuck. By far Kay’s best. The drums on pressure are tight as fuck. Dance dance dance is a bop. Witchy is catchy as hell. Some of the best production ever on here.
Wow. Some of the most beautiful ethereal music on here. And Natalie’s vocals and lyrics are also amazing. Andromeda is a modern classic and I love everyday and the pianos on it. This one’s definitely up there for me
Man this album takes me back. Great pacing and great songs. The synth breakdown on bandito is amazing, love smithereens and its lovey lyrics and legend is a beautiful goodbye to Tyler’s grandfather. So glad I’ve gotten back into this recently
Cool. Most of this a bit to focused on being ‘depressing’ to enjoy on a regular basis. Although there are a few brighter spots on the album. The opener My Boy is a banger
Easily Pink Floyd’s best. Every track is absolute perfection. Wish you were here is a beautiful song and shine on you crazy diamond is a beautiful tribute to Syd Barrett and the struggles he went through.
My second favourite Kanye album. Love the beats and the personal confessional lyrics about mental health and his struggles with fame and his marriage to Kim K. Ghost town might also be up there as one of Kanyes best songs.
My favourite Kanye album. This album was completely groundbreaking when it released and I think it still has that same feel now over 10 years later. Some of the hardest songs ever on here. On Sight is such a perfect embodiment of this album and one of the greatest openers ever.
Never thought a ‘country’ album would ever grace my top ten but here we are. This album is so endlessly fun and inventive and I think that’s what sets apart from other country projects as it does not necessarily box itself into the genre exclusively by mixing in punk, classic and hard rock and even some blues and gospel elements. Cowboy nudes is such a banger and I really hope now that Cameron Winters solo stuff is getting popular this will get more love.
My favourite of Jay’s. Sample choices are crazy and Jay’s flows and lyrics go crazy. A great look back at his careers and a great take and representation of his personal issues and how he has dealt with them. Smile is an amazing track and has a beautiful message about his acceptance and love towards her mother when she came out. 4:44 the title track is a great story about his struggles during his marriage to Beyoncé and how he has dealt with the hurt he caused her and the shame he felt surrounding it. Such a great album with a great concept
After hearing the news of Brian Wilson’s passing I thought it would be right to finally get around to listening to this in full. What an album. It is called a classic for good reason, simply non stop surfer rock perfection. Sloop John B reminds me of my childhood so it’s definitely my favourite. The two instrumental cuts are also amazing. Loved this very much and it definitely lived up to it’s reputation
Wow. Forward thinking pop at its finest. Definitely top 3 pop albums of 2024. Some great head bops and also some beautiful candid mor emotional tracks. Angel on a satellite is one of the most beautiful tracks of 2024. Loved by this since release definitely a potential future classic. Also the synth work on this is some of the best I’ve ever heard.
Hmm. I really don’t know how to feel about this one. It’s not a bad album by any means but it’s just really boring to me. No real standouts either which is very unlike her first two albums that were just brimming with character and different ideas that really helped to create the very varied track lists of both of them. Yeah this one’s kind of a miss, I hope she does better on her next album.
Ooh I loved this one. The singles for this were so fun and catchy and I had high hopes for the rest of the album. And I think this lived up to those expectations very well and this is easily my top pop record of the year so far. Take me back is definitely my favourite love the nostalgia filled lyrics and the great instrumental and great melodies. Loved this one a lot.
I enjoyed this one a lot. I remember listening to a cover of circle the drain years ago and enjoying it and saying to myself I’ll check out the original someday well 5 years later I finally did and I really liked this one. I listened mostly on the train back from London which was definitely a nice atmosphere for this album definitely a good one for late night journeys. Night swimming is definitely my favourite of the bunch so far but I will definitely relisten to this a lot and I know this will hit different when I’m in America as the whole album has a very American feeling that I can’t really describe why. Anyways really liked this on first listen and I will be listening much more.
Pretty solid . Sadly most of this doesn’t really hit like I expected it to. However the highlights on this are amazing. Love the intro and outro and ace trumpets hits super hard. I’ll definitely relisten a few times and see if I feel a bit more positive towards this.
Whole lotta synths? Pretty good but definitely a huge switch up from other mitski albums I’m not really sure I’m really here for it as the more slow paced tracks are my favourites off this.
Okay I relistened and honestly I really love the synths now actually I guess the synths weren’t really the vibe I was after late at night but listening to this in the morning after really changed my opinion and I really love this albums more bright and dynamic instrumentals however I do still feel that I prefer the first few tracks overall.
I actually really didn’t enjoy this on first listen for some reason. However I delisted to this on the train ride home from London and I enjoyed it quite a bit and I really loved some tracks and they have definitely made it into my favourites of hers.
I finally gave this another listen recently and I now love this album so much more than I did originally and its made its way into my regular rotation aswell and I have really been loving a few specific tracks. But aswell I loved the album as a whole package and I definitely prefer the direction the band is taking on this album as opposed to their previous work pre Isaac Woods exit. Good fun
This album is a masterpiece. Such an amazing evolution of their sound. I love the less harsh tone of all the songs compared to 3D Country which while it had some very easily digestible tracks had some real neck breakers. But this flows so well the whole way through and I love the very jam sounding structures most of the tracks have. Cobra is definitely the highlight of this album and really brings back that high energy feel good vibe that a lot of my favourites from 3D Country had. Love this so much and can’t wait to see it played live.
Been a long time coming getting around to this and I’ve listened to a good chunk of it before but never in full and this did not disappoint. Definitely gonna be listening to more Marvin from here on.
Wow. What an album. This album fills me with so much joy for some reason and I’m here for it. I think it might even be in 5 star territory if I revisit it more. James Murphy you are a genius.
