Books I read in 2024

I really understand yet hate Daisy so much. At the same time I feel like Gatsby put so much effort into an illusion and you can’t really blame Daisy for deciding to keep going with her life. Desire, pleasure and money sometimes can’t be found in the same person. I don’t think Gatsby was so much in love with her, much more than the idea of having everything he ever wanted, including her.

Is this magical realism? It definitely seems like it. The only magical realism I’ve read is Gabriel Garcia Marquez and I was biased. Pedro is probably the most terrible partner someone could ever have. If you can’t be with your lover why the hell would you think it’s a good idea to marry their sibling? Besides, be brave enough to do something about it, don’t let your life pass by, gosh. The story was awesome! The end was weird, but expected.

Yes, I read the whole story. I was expecting something else but I loved how the story turned out to be honest. I loved the meaning of the ugliness behind her. I’m not so sure about the love stories but I personally enjoyed the rest.

I just… this was the best book I read this year so far and I cannot praise it enough. It is not perfect, I know that. But I won’t take the credit it deserves for just a couple of details that didn’t resonate with me. The end was extremely predictable although with some unexpected moments. The postman was the hardest chapter I read in my life and even if one day I decide to read it again (which would be very unlikely) I don’t think I could re read that chapter. I loved the character development, but If felt like some of them were left behind by the end of the book. I hope people get determined to read this book as I did.

I wanted to finish this saga when I was 17 so bad! I really enjoyed the story and blame me for being childish at the age of 22 but I really enjoyed this book. The development of the characters (specially Simon and Jace) was very interesting and on point. I enjoyed the story, the opportunity of reading Clary and Jace as a couple (at least for just a couple chapters) and to develop more about the story and romantic lives. I should have read the infernal devices before this book, but I couldn’t resist the temptation to know more about Magnus and Alec.

This book was what I expected, and that is never bad. I really liked how every chapter was about a different opportunity. My only problem was finding out about the end of the story by chapter 3, it was very predictable and awaited. I don’t blame it for it, but I would have liked something else. I understand that this book wanted to imitate the chances you have in reality, yes, you won’t be able to change your mistakes from the past and see again the people you loved. I just wanted a bit of confusion and plot twist. I am not the biggest fan of the narrative but it was nice anyway.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected, I fell for the booktok praise, but it wasn’t disappointing. Every character fell completely unique and wonderfully written. Richard, the unreliable character and the one I resonated deeply. Henry, mysterious, charming, nonchalant, and awesomely intelligent. Camilla, a very interesting character who got lost in the middle of romantic plot lines. Charles, started as a lame character and became so important to me. Bunny, poor bunny, I won’t fall for the bad reputation these people gave to this guy. Francis, probably the most likable character on this book, don’t ask me why. I hope people give this book a try as well.

This book was very fun to read but I’m so sorry, I forgot almost everything of it. I know it was entertaining and the story was well written, I remember that.
